Sizing and Alteration Information
Our suppliers send us their size charts for all of the styles of garments that we sell. Your sales consultant will measure your bust, waist, and hips as accurately as possible when taking your dress order. She will carefully compare your measurements to the appropriate size chart, allowing room for your individual figure type. Most women do not fit exactly into one size. For example, a woman may measure a size 8 in the bust, a size 12 in the waist, and a size 10 in the hip. Your sales consultant will assist you in deciding what size is best for you to order, based on what she knows about the style and fit of the dress, and how the alteration process can take place.
It is important to know that most of our suppliers do not allow us to custom order your specific size. Therefore, most of our customers will require alterations to achieve a customized fit for their figure type.
We have a number of excellent seamstresses that are able to professionally alter your garment for you. By choice, our seamstresses choose to work out of their homes so that they can arrange appointments that may better fit your schedule, and so that they can give you undivided one-on-one attention when you arrive. Our customers tell us that they love our flexible process.
When you purchase your garments from Marilee's, your alteration fees are not included in the purchase price. Our seamstresses are committed to charging you a fair price and will bill you directly for the alterations that they provide based on the time and work involved.
Please note that our seamstresses do not have the time to alter any garments purchased from any other store. It is important that they save their time to work exclusively with garments purchased at Marilee's.
